Cathay Pacific Airways Limited is an airline company of Hong Kong. The main hub of Cathay Pacific is at Hong Kong International Airport. It is has earned reputation for providing excellent services to its customers. It has been voted as Airline of the Year in 2003 and 2005 by Skytrax. In the year 2006 it was again awarded the same title by Air Transport World and OAG. Skytrax has rated it as a five star airline.

Cathay Pacific was set up on 24th September, 1946 in Hong Kong by Sydney De Kantzow and Roy Farrell. The company started its operation by providing services to places like Sydney, Hong Kong, Manila, Singapore, Canton and Shanghai.

Cathay Pacific bought Hong Kong Airways in the year 1959 and showed tremendous growth.

Cathay Pacific offers both passenger and cargo services. It serves 120 destinations. India is one of the major destinations. Fleet of aircrafts of Cathay Pacific :

Passenger Fleet : It has 29 Airbus A330-300, 24 Boeing 747-400, 15 Airbus A340-300 , 12 Boeing 777-300, 3 Airbus A340-600, 5 Boeing 777-200.

Cargo Fleet : 7 Boeing 747-200F, 6 Boeing 747-400BCF, 6 Boeing 747-400F.

Cathay Pacific is has given order for 27 Boeing 777-300ER and 3 Airbus A330-300 which will be used as passenger fleet. For cargo fleet it has ordered for 10 Boeing 747-8F, 6 Boeing 747-400ERF and 2 Boeing 747-400BCF.

In flight entertainment is provided to the travelers. The entertainment system of Cathay Pacific is known as Studio. Each seat of all the classes has Personal TVs. Ten interactive games are also available. Also facilities like video and audio on demand is provided to those who travel in First class and Long Haul Business Class.

It also has code share agreements with airline companies such as British Airways, Air China, Aeroflot, American Airlines, Japan Airlines, Vietnam Airlines, Comair, Mexicana, Philippine Airlines, Malyasian Airlines, Iberia Airlines and Dragonair. Dragonair is the subsidiary of Cathay Pacific
